"I hired Katfish to make repairs to my rental property which had incurred significant fire damage to the roof structure, kitchen and bedrooms. Jed was very helpful in assessing the damages and repairs required and pointing out necessary upgrades to meet new code requirements. His approach was very professional and of high quality. Jed's team did a great job makeing the repairs. The work was done quickly, professional and of high quality. I am extremely pleased with the work that KATFISH did on my property. I found Jed to be very trustworthy, reasonable and responsive. I have hired a number of different contractors in the past and had fairly poor experience with a number of them, it was a pleasure working with Jed."

"This is my second project using KatFish, and we were very happy with them. This project was a complete second floor bathroom renovation (bathroom was stripped to the studs and the wood subfloor). They handled plumbing, electrical, tile, sheetrock - you name it. Thing we liked most is that, instead of simply asking us what we wanted, they had several suggestions on how to handle various parts of the job that were not only helpful, but were better than what we'd originally thought about. Price was fair, workmanship was superb, very professional. We were very pleased."

"I have been recommending KatFish to ANYONE I know who is considering a project. After BAD experiences with 4 other contractors over the past 10 yrs I went into the process of renovating half a shotgun double on my gaurd! I was pleasantly surprised & very grateful to see Jed & Kevin's professionalism! Kevin was patient as I demanded no less than 5 drafts of our contract as I was burned in the past over things I thought were included in a contract & but the contractor later said was not. Jed, who oversees & coordinates the work,had great ideas for solving those surprises that arise in an older home. The crew was prompt every morning & Jed communicated with me throughout. He checked to see if I was happy with things as the project progressed not when it done & couldn't be changed. He respected the budget & I was thrilled to see he had the place professionally cleaned at the end!! I was so pleased with the end result. They have restored my faith in the existance of people who take pride in what they do."

"We are new homeowners and hired KatFish to completely remodel our bathroom. Early in the process, we came across a major hiccup -- a window had been leaking for years and destroyed the interior of one of our walls. Jed was great throughout the entire remodel. He even helped manage frustrating communications with the window company!
Jed, Justin, and Carlos were always professional, timely, and kind. We also found Katfish to be reasonably priced; especially when our remodel expanded to include the extra repairs due to the faulty window. Most importantly, the final product is amazing! The tile job is gorgeous, our floors are stunning, and our new tub is insanely awesome." |

"When our ceiling caved in after heavy rains Jed was there right away and made the necessary repairs immediately (well as soon as the rain stopped...) Of the several contractors we had contacted, he was the most attentive (several did not even return calls). He was courteous,prompt, calm (very important to an upset homeowner) and professional. And we have not had leaks since, despite more heavy rains."

"We hired Katfish to do our roof after our house was struck by LIGHTNING! The damage was not too significant but the roof was leaking and going to just get worse. We asked several roofers to come and give us estimates (one contractor on THIS list actually gave us an estimate 1000% plus higher than Katfish!!!) and we chose correctly in our opinion. Carlos came out the next day gave us an estimate and did the work the day after that. They did a superior job and were quick and professional. The speed with which they completed the job and good work they did overall is definitely why I will hire them again if the need should arise. We thank Jed for his swift response to our need! Thanks Katfish very much!"

"We hired KatFish to finish a bathroom remodel after our previous contractor walked out on us. They did a great job! They showed up when they said they would and called if they would be delayed. They kept the site clean and dealt with changes that came up during the course of the job. They were professional, hardworking and extremely trustworthy. Our bathroom is wonderful and the attention to detail and hard-work shows. They also made sure we knew to call them if any problems came up later. "We hired KatFish to fix a severely leaking roof and rotted wood sill. This job had obviously been "patched" by the previous homeowner who left the inside support structure of a main kitchen wall to rot.
Jed and the guys did a thorough, sound, clean and professional job. They pulled both the exterior and interior wall elements out, replaced rotten supports - basically rebuilt our wall from scratch. This required them removing a stove, stove hood, and two kitchen wall cabinets. When they were done, the house was clean and neat, the new drywall was perfect, the cabinets and hood were back where they belonged. They also found additional places repair was needed and took care of that for us without increasing the bill. KatFish is a great company to work with - they care about the job, and about doing a good job. They took time to thoroughly inspect our problem, and to work with us so we were comfortable with the repairs and the repair process. It is definitely worth calling these guys if you need a contractor." |

"Kevin and Jed worked with us from the beginning to determine the best solution to our needs as we renovated a 100 yr old shotgun double. They were easy to get a hold of and very nice to work with. We were doing a lot of the work ourselves and they understood that and helped work around our needs. As the owner you must communicate often with any contractor and they were always available. They are hard workers as long as you are clear what you want. We recommend them to anyone seeking a general contractor."

"Katfish remodeled the bathrooms in my home. We had a one year warranty on the work, but 13 months later, I called Katfish to let them know one of the faucets was dripping, and some tiles needed to be replaced on a shower wall due to manufacturer defective tiles. Katfish responded immediately. Repaired the faucet, replaced the tiles and did a wonderful job on both. When I asked the cost because the warranty had actually expired, the answer was \\\"NO COST.\\\" The contractor let me know I called close enough to the warranty date. What GREAT FOLLOW-UP SERVICE. Honesty, trustworthisness, quality service is so rare, but Katfish Home Improvements lives their word. I am thrilled I have chosen them for my home remodel."

"Katfish Home Improvement has just remodeled a bath for us and did a beautiful job. We had supply delays from companies we ordered from and Katfish was delayed in completing their work because of it. They never complained, just went with the flow. They stayed in touch with us. They worked both while we were in the house and when we were away. They always left the job site clean and organized. They were completely professional, organized, very good at problem solving - we had some tricky design problems and they solved them in very innovative ways, making some great suggestions. We also had some work left unfinished by other companies and they did equally good work in completing those projects. Primarily, they were all extremely pleasant,personable and great to work with. "After experiencing some contractor woes I contacted KatFish to step in and complete a major rennovation job. I can't say enough positive about these guys. I received a detailed contract, had 2 of the greatest workers, a clean worksite at the end of the day, they tried to save us money by reusing some of the previous molding and getting materials from the Green Project. Jed gave us a great price on the job and completed it in a very timely manner. I would hire this team again in an instant. They were so good in fact that we had the workers and frineds come over for dinner when all was said and done.."

"jed did great work for us. he installed our cook top, down draft and pot cabinets. came when he said he would, never disappointed us and was a pleasure to work with. He painted the cabinets with spray in the warehouse so they were ready to install when he arrived. he did the finish work (trim and handles) and touched up anything I had."

"Jed and the whole Katfish team were AMAZING! We needed an old concrete porch ripped out, wood replaced on the back of our house, and a new wood deck installed. After calling out several contractors to get estimates, Jed came and actually took the time to examine all of the wood and explain to us what he thought would be the best way to solve the problems. He was very thorough. The estimate was fair, timely and very detailed. After signing the contract, the work was done within a week! The workmanship was excellent. The job site was always clear of debris and cleaned up at the end of the day. I highly recommend calling them if you need something done. I can't wait for them to come back and do the rest of the work I need done!"

"I brought them into the middle of our project, we reached the end of our abilities and needed someone to take over and complete the project. They came in and offered us assurances that they could complete the project with little time delay and at a very affordable rate. I told them to go ahead and by the end of business that day, we had joists and floor supports replaced, an electrical outlet moved from one one in one room to another wall in a totally different room. All demolition that we had started, they completed and even cleaned up. I'll look to use them on any future projects that we might have and can not do ourselves."

"We hired KatFish to build the front steps up to a Broadmoor 2 family flat. They were a little hard to nail down at first, but well worth the wait. They executed my design ideas excellently, taking pains to be sure everything would be solid and would properly accommodate the railings we were salvaging. They had excellent communication whenever questions, issues, or options arose. I was sincerely impressed with their attention to detail on the finish carpentry & trim detail work. I am a perfectionist and the few items I brought to their attention were immediately addressed. Cost stated upfront was very reasonable and they did not ask for a penny more than what the contract was for. Work was completed in a very timely manner. I couldn't be more pleased. I will not hesitate to call them in the future."

"I hired the KatFish team to do a total home renovation. We gutted bathrooms and built totally new bathrooms, replaced floors, moved walls, tore out sheetrock, enclosed a bonus room, replace exterior doors, painted the exterior, and much more. The price was fabulous and the work was done in a very professional manner. My home is exactly as I envisioned. Yes, I am very satisfied with the work,the contractor, and the team of individuals who completed the project. It went on for months and the team was always pleasant, professional, on time, and patient. I believe KatFish went far beyond what was written in the contract. "I hired Katfish to do a job a year ago and they did an excellent job. So when it came time for me to renovate my master bathroom they were the first people I called. They were out there the very next day and started ripping out all the old plumbing. In no time at all my closet of a bathroom transformed into a beautiful master bath! The best part was their suggestions that made the whole project more cost effective and beautiful than I ever could have imagined. Now if you excuse me I'm going to stop typing and go soak in my new Jacuzzi!"

"Katfish put in a a new bathroom at my house. They repsonded to phone calls, showed up, and were genreally overall very pleasant to deal with. When we wrote the final check, we were thrilled with their job.
About 2 months after everything was done, we found 2 major leaks in the "stack" where all drain water/toilet flushings, etc. Which leaked into wall. It was a disgusting mess. We also found another leak in the "valve" where they did not properly cap off the backflow. What an expensive incredible repair. New plumber used the word "butchered plumbing" when describing the plumbing job done by Katfish. I am now wondering if they use licensed plumbers. I can't recommend these guys." |

"After reading this response, we were disheartened and contacted all of our customers that we had renovated a bathroom for in year of 2008. Not one of our customers informed us that they had had problems with their plumbing. We stand behind our work, we use only licensed plumbers and we warranty our work for at least one full year. I can only assume that this is the same person the penned the November 12, 2008 comment, since that person did not make any effort to have us come back to make repairs that were under warranty and would have saved a great deal of money. We at KatFish do our very best to please our customers and we have never refused to repair a problem that one of our workers or subcontractors may have caused. Luckily, this very rarely happens. We maintain an unblemished record with the Better Business Bureau, have never been sued and ALWAYS stand behind our work. And, as she pointed out, we do respond to calls (and would have responded to hers if the customer had called), show up and are pleasant to deal with."

"Katfish just completed my job in the lakeview area and they did same ahead of schedule, in a professional manner and with expert craftmanship all with PRE-KATRINA prices. I would highly recommend this company to anyone doing renovations or restoration. Their crew was timely, honest and kept a clean workplace (they cleaned up daily!). The job supervisor was extremely knowledgeable and able to help us with all the plans and choices we had to make. They made this hectic and scarey project much less stressful than I ever imagined. Their trim and finish work is GORGEOUS!!! We are planning an addition to the house in the upcoming months now that we are back in our beloved lakeview, we wouldn't use anyone except KATFISH for this or any other construction project."

"We had Katfish repair some structural damage caused by subsidence, and we also had them build a deck. They were able to start work the same week we signed the contract, they were timely and professional, and they were able to adpat to modifications to the deck mid-project. Their costs were very reasonable as well. We had a small issue with part of the deck (some rough edges that needed to be cleaned up), but they came out the day after we called them about it and took care of it (and this was after they had been paid). We were quite pleased."

"Hired Katfish to renovate garage addition. From pouring a concrete floor, added support beams, electrical, plumbing, build a wall. After professional inspection done by Gurtler Bros. the new concrete floor was found to be 2 inches out of level. Door locks were installed upside down, sheetrock was improperly floated, grade c trim was used, the bathroom is out of square, the sink leaked, where trim paint needed to be touched up - it was done with flat paint, roof leaks, and lastly...there is such a bad leak where the new shower was installed, it will require us to rip out the tile and patch the plumbing as well as rip out all the sheetrock and cabinetry in laundry room underneath this bathroom as the shower leaked down into the wall causing mold and mildew."

"KatFish Home Improvement has, and will always, honor our obligations and provides a 1 year guarantee on workmanship. This job entailed finishing the interior of a two story garage. The customer was aware that the garage was not true and that the first floor sloped. We were hired to build a closet and bath and to raise the floor 2 to 3 inches, not to rebuild the garage. The inspector who was hired was given false information during the inspection process. We have the inspection report and our response on file and will make them available upon request. We attempted to alter things to the customer's liking and finish punch out items but were denied access at which time we were still owed 30% of the payout. A different plumber was brought in to do punch out and now, 9 months later, without giving us a chance to inspect and correct, the customer claims that there are leaks. KatFish works hard to satisfy its customers who attest to the fact that we go above and beyond to make sure every job is done correctly. "

"Katfish construction is a beacon of light in the dark contractor underworld. After many discouraging and fruitless attempts with other companies I am happy to recommend Katfish construction based on my own perfectly contented experience. The job was small; rehabbing the exterior and structure of a shed that faces the street. The price was low, and the work was treated like a priority anyway. At no time was I out of the loop. We were out of town for the beginning of the job and Gustav hit before completion, but we were in contact by phone and there were guys working 5 days after we returned home. The culmination of the job was far beyond my expectations. Jed and Kevin are extremely pleasant to work with, easy to talk to, but not patronizing. I can't wait to be able to work with this company again. Katfish rocks!!!"

"I hired Katfish Home Improvement to do some moderate renovation in my 1928(yr.) Carrollton arts and crafts style home. They did a nice job. The BEST thing about Jed Fisher(main guy you deal with) is he answers his phone! If not, he'll call you usually within 15 min. They closed up a doorway, built a new wall and reinstalled the door. It looks pretty much as if it had been built that way. They also built a room in the basement and fixed a roof problem area. Jed tracked down some 'green' insulation upon my request. When they made a mistake, they were quickly corrected. Prices were reasonable and work was performed on time. I had a couple of problems. They did not protect my floor adequately or put up sufficient dust barrier at first, making a big mess. When i complained that was corrected BUT they should have known better. His workers spoke little english (brazilian). I find this frustrating and potentially dangerous."

"I had Katfish do a kitchen remodel. It took a little longer than was first estimated ,due to some material problems.I was never left in the dark and I was in contact with Jed and Kevin every step of the way.There workers were very nice and made every effort to accommodate us.Having had work done on my house before, I would say the experience was better than I imagined. "These guys are amazing. Their competitive bid, along with creative suggestions for rebuilding, made them the obvious choice for me. "After the storm, I called a contractor who had worked for me for years. He gave me a bid, but said it would be a while before he could get to me. After almost 2 years, he sent his painter to repair and paint my ceilings. Howvever, he did not fulfill the contract. When I finally contacted him (he was avoiding my calls), he said that my job was too small for him.
Through a friend, I found Katfish and they came out right away, gave me an acceptable bid, and got to work. My job was finished in a few weeks and I am highly satisfied. They were competent, good workers, and reiable. I would highly recommend them and will call them again when needed." |

"I found KatFish through this website. I was very pleased- they did a great job on our home. We added a master bedroom with master bath on the existing house. While it took a little longer than expected (7 months from the design to construction process), the workmanship was worth the wait. The work was a little delayed due to weather conditions and back orders but having worked with contractors prior to moving here this should be expected, especially here where good contractors are hard to find and in demand. I am really satisfied with the quality of the work."

"Post-K, I hired Katfish to mend a 40-foot section of exterior wall that had separated from the main structure; sunlight and rain was coming directly into the house! Katfish completed the work months before any neighbors were even able to line contractors much less get work accomplished.
Since then I've hired Katfish for several small to medium jobs including: replacing 15 windows; building out and tripling the size of storage shed; insulating every nook and cranny of my 3000 sq ft, 100-year-old house from underneath previously exposed raised floorboards to all exterior walls. I've been so happy with both their meeting cost estimates and their professional work that I'm now in the process of lining up some credit so they can build a 2nd story, 2 bedroom camelback addition onto the existing structure while adding a 2nd bath to the ground floor. I highly recommend Katfish and the superb attention that Jed Fisher and Kevin Katner bring to their work." |

"KatFish Home Improvement is currently building a bedroom loft in my condo in the Warehouse District. They were highly recommended by a good friend and so far they have been very courteous, timely, and professional in all manners. This is very important to me since I am single woman and I have been over charged in the past for work done on my condo. Jed, my contractor, took the time to walk me through the contract until I felt comfortable and has explained every move since working on the loft. So far so good....everything is looking great and things are moving along much faster than we both originally thought. I will update this feedback when they are finished. "We hired them to renovate our Lakeview home after gutting. WONDERFUL!! They worked with us to get the cost down to what we could afford by letting us know what materials cost and what the pros and cons were for each. When a door frame was more expensive then they originally estimated they paid the difference. Extremely hlepful in advising me and alleviating my stress. They worked around my scehdule when requested but finished under the time other contractors said it would take.
